The Staff Accountant is responsible for working with the Accounting Manager to timely and effectively process significant inventory invoices and various other miscellaneous tasks. The position also assists with various ad-hoc accounting related projects and assists other managers in an administrative capacity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
• Processing of equipment inventory invoices on a timely basis
• Preparation of journal entries with supporting documentation
• Preparation and maintenance of excel spreadsheets for account analysis and reports
• Responding to inquiries of vendors, customers, government agencies, auditors, and employees
• Developing methods and/or procedures to enhance efficiency of work performed
• Assisting with other accounting function on an as-needed basis
• Other duties as assigned
This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but must interact with other employees within the accounting department and outside departments.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree preferably in accounting, finance, economics or related business administration field. Minimum two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Ability to respond to common inquiries, interact with external auditors and internal departments. Ability to effectively present information to management.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, the Internet, and scanning devices.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
