AMERI-FORCE IS CURRENTLY HIRING 3rd CLASS SHIP FITTERS IN NATIONAL CITY, CA!
Help with general duties alongside Ship-fitters. Major functions: Shall have all the skills and abilities to perform the requirements of a ship board or production shop metal ship fitter with entry level experience supporting their competency to accomplish task with direct supervision or guidance. Expected to read and learn to interpret drawings, specifications, technical manuals, design notices, etc. through interaction with supervision and higher level employees. Expected to use the ship fitting tools of their trade including; grinders, sanders, band saws, sawzalls and other power tools, drills, measuring instruments, and mechanical hand tools and expected to accomplish the routine tasks associated with the project. Must provide basic tools of their trade (power tools, calibrated instruments, and specialized tools will be provided). Expected to adhere to budgetary (hours used), duration (time frame for completion), and quality (zero tolerance) requirements. Technical/Functional skills: Shipyard environment. Heavy lifting up to and including 50lbs, work in a variety of weather elements. The Ship Fitter will be working on heavy structural components. Education/Experience/Licenses etc.: High school or GED, and authorized to work in the US.
