JOB CLASSIFICATION: Senior Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineer (Wastewater Project and Construction Management)
SALARY: $10,581 – $12,249 Monthly / $126,972 - $146,988 Annually

The East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) is currently seeking a motivated, experienced, and team-oriented Senior Engineer to supervise the Project and Construction Management Section of the Wastewater Engineering Division in the EBMUD Wastewater Department. This Senior Engineer is responsible for supervising a section that includes seven engineers/construction managers, a construction supervisor (who oversees four construction inspectors), and an administrative clerk. This position is responsible for overseeing all capital project construction work in the wastewater collection and treatment system, and implementation of the Wastewater Department’s $368 million, 10-year capital improvement program. This section is also responsible for managing consultant-designed projects, coordinating construction activities with operations and maintenance staff in the Wastewater Treatment Division, and resolving critical issues that arise during construction and startup.
The most competitive candidates will have significant experience in construction contract administration and project design-phase management, strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, and excellent supervisory skill in providing sound direction to staff and effectively working to resolve critical construction issues.
The salary range is $10,581 per month increasing to $11,110, $11,666, and $12,249 after 6, 18, and 30 months, respectively. A 3.7% salary increase is anticipated to take place effective April 18, 2016.
