The Project Manager is responsible for the control and management of one or more major projects at any given time (multitasking) and is primarily responsible for the safe, timely and profitable completion of those projects.


QUALIFICATIONS:  Strong communication skills, estimating, planning, negotiating and project management skills.  Must be able to read blue prints and interpret plans and specifications.  Must be knowledge in construction codes, labor law, construction law and OSHA requirements.  Educational/experience requirements are either: 1) at least 10 years in a construction environment with at least 2 years of supervisory experience, or 2) a two or four year technical degree with at least six years experience in construction environment, including at least two years of supervisory experience. Must be computer literate.  Must have a valid driver’s license.   Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.


DUTIES:  The PM may be required to develop projects estimates and assist in other pre-sale activities.  Responsibilities:

●             The timely and accurate development of project estimates that are both competitive and meet or exceed AMS profit objectives; and

●             The development and implementation of project plans that result in the completion of AMS projects at or below cost targets while meeting or exceeding goals for safety, completion time and customer satisfaction.


Included in the above are: 1) identification and selection of subcontractors, 2) purchasing of project materials, 3) manpower planning, scheduling and training to assure adequate availability of skilled labor to complete major projects within committed time frames.
