Current needs for Outside Machinist Air Conditioning Mechanics in San Diego, CA.
Minimum of 6-8 years experience in mechanical ship repair with a focus on Air Conditioning and Refrigeration repair.
Demonstrate knowledge of shipboard systems and components.
Must have required personal tools necessary to accomplish daily tasks.
Applicants with compatible commercial experience and/or certifications that meet the requirements are encouraged to apply.
Pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
High School or equivalent level preferred
EPA and Universal Certification required to handle refrigerant
Installs, Maintains, and repairs ship’s main propulsion and auxiliary systems including, but not limited to: Steam, Gas Turbine, Diesel propulsion, propulsion shafting, propellers, rudders, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, and steering systems. Installs, maintains, and repairs ships’ subsystems including, but not limited to: pumps, compressors, purifiers, heat exchanges hydraulic/electric motor operators, valves, fluid control component/assemblies, and fluid/air/hydraulic systems. Test installed equipment to ensure system meets specifications. Installs and test various shop equipment, vacuum pumps, regulators, and gauge manifolds.
