Job Summary

 

Supervises and directs all product engineering, development and test activities for Arrowhead Products for the Low Pressure (LP) Systems Product Line including those parts made in Hand Build, Machine Build, Insulation, Metals, and Molded Departments as well as those parts made by outside sources. 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Plans and controls the activities of the LP Engineering group engaged in design, development, testing and qualifying of new or improved products, conforming to government and customer requirements and Company contractual commitments.
  • Plans and controls assigned research and development activities to support Company and customer funded activities, providing for improvements in present materials, product lines and manufacturing capabilities and for the introduction of new materials, products and engineering systems.
  • Supervises support research studies on segments of major projects to support product engineering or research and development.
  • Acts as technical engineering consultant to interested Company members and with government, customer accounts, vendors and subcontractors. 
  • Plans for projects, supervising interpretations of all technical data to meet contract requirements and review of all customer design.  Coordinates the initiations of quality standards to comply with military and customer requirements

·         Supervises the preparation, modification and distribution of prints, specifications and all support engineering documentation and instructions as applicable to relevant product lines.

  • Supervises the compilation of all technical material sand engineering costs for bids and proposals.
  • Participates with Sales on customer coordination, planning, and problems design and/or materials modifications to meet customer or government requirements.
  • Participates in long range planning, making recommendations for product expansions and need for facilities, when requested.
  • Performs various related duties such as assisting in material review board activities; approving manufacturing process specifications; providing proper engineering analysis and drawings for sales literature; supervising fabrication of designated first articles and sales samples; supervising technical training programs for sales or other interested Company personnel.
  • Responsible for creation and implementation of Low Pressure Systems Engineering related processes and procedures.
  • Ability to complete work assignments accurately in a timely manner.

Education and Experience

 

  • BS Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
  • Requires a minimum of three (3) years experience in aerospace composite component design and project engineering, preferably with at least two (2) years active experience with aircraft low pressure system design and performance and associated component function as well as program management experience.
