The Logistics Specialist integrates new customers and vendors into existing routes, develops new routes, monitors and restructures existing routes to improve efficiency, and performs daily routing; evaluates current inbound freight practices/policies for Backhaul (BKH), Third Party (3PL) and Delivered (DEL) to realize financial gain opportunities while building mutually respectable relationships.
Plans and implements re-routes ensuring all routes remain cost-effective.
Evaluates and resolves documented customer complaints directed to the Logistics department.
Maintains vendor, customer, associate, and standard route lists in routing software; ensures information is current and accurate.
Daily routing duties to include all scheduled/unscheduled orders and backhauls at prescribed timelines utilizing the most efficient method available.
Manages KPIs to maximize income and find inbound freight efficiencies.
Creates and maintains current vendor and carrier files that include current liability insurance documentation; monitors and manages all 3PL freight relationships, encourages improved performance, and processes freight claims.
Observes safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions, reports injuries/accidents immediately, demonstrates safe behavior at all times, especially when using company property and/or operating equipment or vehicles.
Performs other duties as assigned.
