Work will consist of installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment within the electrical construction industries. All employees are required to operate with the utmost ethical behavior and customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all electrical tasks with little to no supervision, possesses Journeyman license, has the ability to read blueprints, terminate cable, install and trouble shoot control wiring from drawing, is able to demonstrate experience factors exceeding an Apprentice Electrician and must be sufficient on rough-in work.
Wire and conduit sizing.
Switchgear and device installation and termination.
Layout and preparation for installation.
Underground layout and rough-in.
Motors and controls - trouble shooting.
Possess skills of lower job titles (Apprentice electrician).
Fully comprehends Electrical theory and NFPA 70 National Electric Code.
Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year (heat, cold, rain, snow).
Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns).
Job requires employees to have personal tools with them at all times (waist tool belt as worn - weighs approximately 30 lbs.).
Work from all types of ladders (step ladders up to 16', "A" frame ladders and all sizes of extension ladders, and carry and relocate up to 12' step ladder by one's self).
Perform work at various heights (up to 60) from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks or other areas.
Work in restricted areas (switchgear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics).
Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses at all times), respirator when required.
Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers.
Able to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime as required and night shifts.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skillls
Positively identify colors of wires.
Comprehends reading and drawing prints and schematics.
Bend conduit by hand with hand benders.
Must use all power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches.
Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment.
Operate equipment, trenchers, back hoe, lift in safe manner.
Practices and comprehends safe work procedures per Company policy.
Operate two- (2) handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers.
Reads and interprets maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprints and written instructions.
Operate and work from mechanical personnel lifts (electrical or gas powered).
Work on energized circuits and equipment with company management approval as outlined in Safety Policy.
Currently registered as a journeyman woth the state of California.
