Morley Builders is currently searching for an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager. Morley Builders is owned by nearly 200 employees and has a total craftsman payroll that ranges from 300 to 600, depending on the number of self-performed field projects under construction. IT Infrastructure Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance for creating and maintaining productive work environment, ensuring staff have the appropriate skills and tools to perform their jobs
  • Perform systems management functions including incident management, fault isolation resolution, security management, and systems and network integration
  • Provide strategic and operations leadership for implementing programs and processes
  • Participate in on-call support as required
  • Configuration management, troubleshooting, and systems management methodologies and practices
  • Perform backup and disaster recovery system management functions
  • Oversee system installations, refreshes, and upgrades to the databases, operating systems, applications, network monitoring and optimization
  • Forecast demand for storage, computing, and network capacity and proactively take appropriate actions
  • Make sure IT governance, audit, and compliance requirements are met
  • Understand and implement IT security policies and best practices

Job Requirements

  • Proficient understanding of IP networking including: Windows Server, Network Security, Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), internet routing and switching protocols, wireless, and VPN capabilities
  • History of deploying and supporting high-volume and high-availability Internet/Intranet and Client/Server systems
  • Experience in server networking with TCP/IP and systems integration through networking concepts
  • Proven analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • History of managing complex projects in demanding business situations
  • Ability to analyze data, provide business intelligence, and recommend appropriate actions/tasks
  • Expertise in VMWare, Storage Area Network (SAN), monitoring tools, and operating systems

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science, Computer Science, or Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6+ years of directly relevant experience
  • 3+ years direct supervisory experience in a management administrative capacity, or advanced technical leadership
  • Knowledge of principles and practices regarding networking, computer hardware, and software systems with an emphasis in diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques
  • Experience with administration tasks for ERP systems
  • Experience with administration tasks for other third-party systems (Prolog, SMS/TMS, Act)
  • Experience managing a document management system
  • Experience with VMware, SAN, Network Attached Storage (NAS) technologies and blade servers
  • IT related certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CISCO, ITIL, CISSP, VMware)

Technical Skills

Applications support regarding major platform, including SAGE Timberline, Prolog, Abra, Microsoft Office Suite, and other application suites.

  • Experience working with Windows Server environment
  • Working knowledge of managing relational databases (e.g., SQL, DB2, MS Access, etc.)
  • Significant experience with Windows operating systems for servers and workstations
  • IT infrastructure/architecture experience

Hands-on knowledge of:

  • Network technologies and arrays
  • Major database
  • Windows networking fundamentals, including security, file systems, and kernel
  • TCP/IP networking experience
  • L2 and L3 protocols
