Under general supervision of the Senior Electrical Engineer-Supervisory, performs a variety of routine to complex duties in support of the Electrical and Automation division related to: installing, troubleshooting, preventative and corrective maintenance, and repairing of metering, recording, data logging, and control instrumentation, including electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, telemetric, analytical, and electro-mechanical systems as found in the water, recycled water, and wastewater treatment plants, District buildings, and related facilities; maintains LAVWMA and DERWA instrumentation equipment; and performs other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have several years of recent industrial instrumentation experience in a water/wastewater facility or other utility or manufacturing industry which includes flow, pressure, level, temperature and analytical (i.e., fluoride, chlorine, pH, etc.) instruments. The candidate should also be able to utilize drawings such as P&IDs, loop drawings, interconnection drawings and control schematics for troubleshooting and repairs. In addition to the essential functions, the incumbent will have recent experience with the use of SCADA and PLC programming software for troubleshooting system processes. Experience with gas monitoring instruments, asset management, electrical safety programs, security control systems, fire alarm systems and environmental control systems is desirable.
Possession of a Class C driver's license
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade
Two (2) years of responsible work experience in maintaining, installing, and repairing a wide variety of pneumatic, electro-mechanical, electronic circuitry and mechanical equipment, control systems, and communications systems.
Completion of coursework in an apprenticeship program or trade school in an electronics, electrical, or computer field is desirable.
