The most competitive candidates for this position will have:
Experience with preventive maintenance, modification, calibration, programming, repairs and installation of all field instrument loop and control systems to enhance equipment reliability to meet wastewater treatment regulations.
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC5, SLC500, Control Logix, Siemens, Modicon, and GE FanucPLCs.
Ability to provide technical programming support for repair and troubleshooting of network communications, and Emerson’s Ovation DCS.
International Society of Automation Certified ControlSystems Specialist Level I or II certification and/or California Water Environment Association Level I (Level II certification is highly desired).

A typical means of acquiring the essential knowledge, skills and abilities for this position is:
High school diploma or its equivalent AND four (4) years of experience performing skilled work in electronic circuitry, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and mechanical repair, at least two (2) years of which involved field work on instrumentation and process controls.
Must possess physical characteristics to perform the critical and important duties of the class, including sufficient physical agility to work in high or confined spaces.
Must be willing to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and work overtime as needed.
