Peterson Trucks, Inc has an immediate opening for an Inside Sales Representative in our San Leandro locaiton.


The Inside Sales Representative position is responsible for providing sales coverage, for New and Used trucks, to all customers that are not assigned to the Outside Account Sales Representatives. The Rep. will be assigned their own customer list for which they will be responsible for sales coverage through the company’s CRM database. Addition functions of the Rep. will be to handle retail “Walk-In” sales, facilitate lead generation, managing the Truck Sales website and negotiating on-line sales.

  • Makes 50 outbound phone contacts per week to determine customer needs, present solutions and services to influence buying decisions
  • Responds to the needs of walk-in customers
  • Market and sell to companies with fleet size 1-2 trucks within the Peterson AOR
  • Accountable for Customer Relationship Management (“CRM”) input with retail customers & prospects within assigned territory. All information, leads, activities, and equipment information will be kept current in CRM
  • Monitors and Manages Peterson’s inventory and negotiates transactions for Peterson’s on-line truck sales through
  • Evaluates leads, effectively and efficiently, and determines whether to respond or pass the lead to sales management for assignment
  • Stay current on International Truck brand and competitive products in order to offer the best solutions based on customer interests and concerns
  • Conduct at least 1 marketing campaign per month
  • Works safely at all times, adheres to all applicable safety policies and complies with all company policies, procedures and standards
  • Works within and promotes corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization
  • A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of Sales work experience, preferred
  • Must be able to communicate in writing clearly and effectively
  • Must be able to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization
  • Read with comprehension the necessary related documentation such as interpret basic inventory reports, truck specifications, sales and marketing data pertaining to the industry
  • Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, and basic computer systems such as the internet and email
