We are currently seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic II at our Oxnard, CA facility.

 

JOB SUMMARY: The Maintenance Mechanic II will perform a variety of functions involved in the repair of Company facilities, property and equipment. This position will work under the general supervision at all times to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, install, and perform preventative maintenance on industrial equipment within facility. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on plant machines and equipment.
  • Examine, repair and maintain and replace defective parts machines and equipment.
  • Trouble shooting electrical problems on a variety of industrial hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • May start specialisms (mechanics, electrician, forklift mechanics, etc.).
  • Effectively interpret schematics and diagrams to analyze and troubleshoot problems for products.
  • Make adjustments necessary to insure efficient operation.
  • Move heavy machine parts with the aid of hoists or rollers.
  • Communication with plant and company management regarding scheduling and repair status.
  • Comply with Company standards and applicable repair procedures and regulations.
  • Inspects and checks work prior to turning machinery back to users, assuring that all safety factors have been attended to in compliance with applicable safety regulations.
  • Performs related paperwork as instructed by supervisory personnel.
  • Maintains clean work area.
  • Participates in Total Quality Management projects to achieve improvements.
  • Report any equipment or facility defect(s) to supervisor.
  • Comply with all APP, Inc. safety rules and company policies.
  • Ensure any accident or injury is promptly reported.
  • Wears proper PPE in work area at all time.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.

 

OTHER DUTIES

  • Should be able to work in any shift.
  • Will supply most hand tools, including tool box.
  • Performs other duties as required by manager.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or GED and/or combination of vocational school.
  • Meet all requirements for the Maintenance Mechanic I position.
  • 2-4 years repairing and/or maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical industrial equipment or related industrial machinery.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

  •  Forklift Certificate desired.

  • Will be safety conscious and put safety first.
  • Should be able to work in any shift.
  • Must be able to work occasional overtime to meet operational deadlines.
  • Will supply most hand tools, including tool box.
  • Able to work independently in a demanding fast paced environment.
  • Knowledge of hardware selection, identifying systemic root causes and process improvements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and be capable of repetitive bending.
  • Good hand/eye coordination and good eyesight.
  • Ability to stand on your feet 70% of the time.

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education and/or Experience

  • Tech or Trade school training certificate in related field.
  • 4 years related industrial maintenance experience performing repairs and PM on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical industrial equipment desired.
  • Prior forging equipment repair experience highly desired.
  • Able to read circuit diagrams and schematics.
  • Ability to weld with MIG and TIG highly desired.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering groups as projects routinely involve working with other team members.
  • Forklift Certificate desired.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving forklifts and working plant machinery. Work environment is indoor/outdoor at an industrial manufacturing plant. Will encounter grease, oil, dirt, occasional fumes, acids and other chemicals. Various mechanical and electrical hazards exist in work areas including moving objects, high-powered machinery, sharp metal shavings, hot parts, open flames, etc. Temperature in work areas can exceed 90F throughout the work year. Moderate-to-high noise from machinery is constant throughout shift.
