 Summary: The Field Service Technician installs and services ware-washing and beverage/chemical dispensing equipment.  This job is considered SAFETY SENSITIVE.

 Essential Functions:

  • Installs, repairs, and services mechanical and electronic equipment at customer locations.
  • Ensures technical assistance and information is provided to customers to prevent or resolve issues with product or equipment to maximize performance.
  • Discusses technical problems related to maintenance or operation of equipment.
  • Consults with customers regarding sanitation and business needs; provides training and service literature.
  • Works with company sales representative and product/dispenser vendors to deliver program-enhancing solutions to customers.
  • Assists with the development of the ware-washing, laundry, and beverage/chemical dispensing programs from an installation, service and repair perspective.
  • Makes engaging service calls and builds trust-based relationships with customers. Provides exceptional customer service that is in the best long-term interest of Saladino’s and protects the company’s image and reputation.

 

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the required knowledge, skill and/or ability and the physical requirements.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing skills
  • Ability to read English and interpret documents such as operating and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English; ability to speak effectively to customers
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints
  • Intermediate mathematical skills
  • Good listening, communication, and follow through skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Available to travel as needed. Frequent, long-distance driving and occasional overnight stays required.
  • Available after hours for emergency calls
  • Supplies own hand tools common to the trade
  • Valid CA driver’s license and clean MVR (2 points or less)

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to two years related experience in a related field (i.e. appliance repair)
