East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) invites candidates who have the appropriate qualifications to apply for this intern position part-time (working 19 hours per week when school is in session), OR temporary (working full-time 40 hours per week for 6 months during school breaks) in the Wastewater Plant Optimization Section of the Wastewater Department. This intern position will end June 30, 2017, or when 1,040 hours are worked; whichever comes first.
Typical duties include:
Field test technologies that may optimize wastewater treatment plant processes, such as online monitoring and automated control of activated sludge inventories, disinfection, activated sludge selectors, solids dewatering, anaerobic digestion, etc.
Compile and evaluate test data
Use PCs for spreadsheets, word processing, graphics, database, engineering programs, etc., and
Other duties as required.
Currently enrolled students in an undergrad or gradprogram with an interest in civil/environmental engineering (other subject areas may be considered, ) at an accredited college or university
Valid California driver's license and satisfactorydriving record
Must possess physical characteristics to perform the critical and important duties of the class
Must be willing to work outdoors in a variety of climatic and geographic conditions
