InnovaSystems has a need for a Database Developer on our Navy Reserve Readiness Module (NRRM) team at our headquarters in San Diego, CA!


NRRM is an application that fuses Navy Reserve Personnel data and provides Commanders and reserve personnel with instant access to training and readiness information as well as mobilization and training scheduling information.  The NRRM application is currently expanding its scope to include new data sources; this individual will become an integral part of the database team to consume, commit and display the new data for the applications.

The Database Engineer will provide hands-on development of enterprise data warehouse solutions that fulfill a consistent architectural intent within the agreed time and budget. The main functions of this role include: estimation, design, coding, unit-testing, design reviews, peer code reviews, release support, collaboration with team stakeholders, and the regular updating of work item status and hours.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Transforming data according to complex business rules using SSIS, T-SQL
  • Troubleshoot issues in an efficient and systematic manner to identify and resolve underlying causes as well as take a proactive approach to solving problems creatively using available resources.
  • Responsible for maintaining consistency in terms of planning, estimating, executing, and communicating work and progress within the team. Expected to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals on both an individual and team aspect

  • Database schema and ETL design

  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Advanced T-SQL
  • Experience refactoring within a large code base
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Experience working with multiple co-located teams
  • Familiarity with Document Database
