Job Description

 
Participate in the development and support of the company’s strategic plans
Create new accounting/operations procedures to improve efficiency and productivity
Monitor the financial performance of the company
Compile and analyze financial reporting packages and prepare monthly financial reports
Prepare annual operating budget and monitor monthly
Drive the planning and forecasting processes for departmental spending and overhead
Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
Communicate financial metrics to partners
Work with outside accounting/financial firms on year end close-out procedures Provide leadership and support to accounting and service department staff
Work with project management staff ensuring proper compliance with accounting procedures including reviewing and analyzing job cost estimated and reports monthly
Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
Manage marketing strategies
Manage business insurance policies and renewals
Oversee all aspects of accounting - AP, AR and collections
Manage sales tax filing
Manage the preparation of payroll for personnel
Keep up-to-date on current HR trends
Manage all aspects of HR
Manage and provide leadership and mentoring to accounting and service department staff

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline or equivalent combination of related experience and education
Minimum 5 years accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role with at least 3 years experience in human resources

Strong business acumen and ability to think strategically and proactively
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Impeccable analytical and organizational skills

Strong Excel, MS Office and IT knowledge

Knowledge of Sage Contractor accounting software is preferred
Self-motivated and self-directed
Ability to effectively manage staff
