Position Description
Set-up, operate and monitor Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining centers to fabricatemetallic and nonmetallic parts. Reports to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up, operate and monitor production CNC Milling (Vertical, Horizontal), CNC Live-tooling, Lathe and 5-Axis machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Reads and interprets drawings and specifications to select and position machinery. Selects, maligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials.
  • Ensures machine function and output meets specifications. Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining parameters such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth & angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work-piece to specifications and accurately completes all inspection documentation.
  • Follows established quality, maintenance, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.

  • 2-5 years CNC experience. Hands-on experience with FANUC, Siemens 840D, and/or Okuma OSP controls.

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, bills of materials and work instructions. Able to provide written and verbal instructions to supplement drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing, conversion between English and Metric units and application of basic algebra and geometry skills.

  • Knowledgeable in the use of required hand tools and inspection equipment.

  • Ability to follow safety rules and procedures relating to quality, operation and maintenance.

  • Good judgment and problem solving skills. Organization and time management skills required.
  • Able to interface with company personnel and customer representatives.
