Position Overview

The CNC Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain approximately 55 CNC machines at the Oceanside facility and 10 CNC machines at the El Cajon facility. Machines include Swiss, turning, milling, mill/turn, and EDM. Brands include Star, Citizen, DMG Mori, Nakamura, Takisawa, Miyano, and Mitsubishi.


The maintenance technician may also be responsible for creating, administering, and refining an overall facilities maintenance plan.


Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, structures, facilities and systems in the plant.  Focus on minimizing unplanned downtime of equipment and systems.
  • Collaborate with machine dealers/manufacturers as necessary to diagnose and fix problems. Solicit bids for outside contract work, schedule and monitor the work.
  • Build and/or refine existing PM programs at both facilities. Maintain systems for monitoring and tracking maintenance requests, preventive maintenance.
  • Build spare parts management and inventory structure.
  • Create purchase request for parts as needed for PMs and repairs. 
  • Provide technical support to production staff when equipment downtime or malfunctions occur.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Position Requirements

Education:     High school diploma is required, trade school or other technical/maintenance education strongly preferred.

Experience:    5 or more years of experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs and maintenance on precision CNC equipment. Experience as a service technician at a CNC machine tool dealership or manufacturer would be desirable.
