Unique consulting firm, located in our Sacramento Regional office (in Rancho Cordova, California), is searching for a dynamic, high energy person for a CEQA Environmental Planner/Project Manager position. If you are a motivated individual with an entrepreneurial drive and substantial experience preparing CEQA documents, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you. This position is responsible for project management and preparation of CEQA documents for mid-size projects.

This position is an opportunity to break into a growing brand where you would have substantial responsibilities, with possibilities to rapidly grow into a leadership role. We are an exciting environmental start-up not a 1,000+ or 10,000+ environmental/engineering mega firm.

Strong emphasis will be placed on previous technical experience, quality of work, and the ability to manage project budgets and schedules. Excellent communication skills, willingness to collaborate with others, attention to detail, and the desire to thrive in start-up growing environmental firm are essential.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of CEQA documentation for various types of projects
  • Lead meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate reviews with environmental and technical staff
  • Scope projects for the appropriate level of environmental review
  • Budget control and invoicing
  • Maintain schedules
  • Manage sub-consultants
  • Conduct quality control
  • Business development, marketing and proposal preparation


  • Minimum three (3) years CEQA project management and document preparation or five (5) years of related experience in the environmental field
  • BA/BS degree in Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy or related field
  • Advanced degrees or AICP certification is a plus, but not required
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong technical writing ability
