TRC is seeking a entry level Bridge/Structural Engineer with 0-3 years of experience at the Rancho Cordova Office in CA

Job Duties:

Candidates must have the ability to work within a team environment reporting to multiple supervisors and working on multiple. Candidates must have the desire to become proficient in the inspection, load rating, design, and detailing in MicroStation of:

  • New Bridges
  • Retrofits for Deficient Bridges
  • Foundation and Substructure Design of Bridges
  • Marine structures

Candidates must have a strong command of design principles and the ability to develop neat and accurate design calculations. Candidate should have strong oral and written communications skills. A candidate knowledgeable in Microstation and/or AutoCAD is a plus.

    • Review, verify, and validate structural calculations and construction drawings completed by other engineers
    • Participate in on-site bridge inspections to assist with identifying deficiencies.
    • From inspection reports, review of as-built drawings, and previous design documents, develop finite element models of complex bridges and develop load ratings in accordance with AASHTO.
    • Develop design calculations for bridge rehabilitation and new bridge design projects.
    • Develop details in Microstation for bridge rehabilitation and new bridge designs.


Job Requirements: 

  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering 
  • 0-3 years minimum experience
  • Masters degree in Civil/Structural Engineering desired but not mandatory
  • EIT preferred
