Peterson has an immediate need for an experienced Accounting Clerk at our San Leandro, CA location.  The person in the position will provide support to the Accounting Department primarily through journal entries, account reconciliations, and filing.

  • Assist in maintaining control of general and subsidiary ledgers including posting journal entries. This position will help support responsibilities spanning A/P, A/R and General Ledger tasks.  Provide assistance to accounting and operations personnel to help resolve financial questions and/or problems.
  • Participate in the preparation of month end tasks such as journals and preparing management reports.
  • Responsible for general and subsidiary ledger maintenance, including g/l account and department set-up, recurring journals maintenance, etc.
  • Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts as assigned.
  • Participate in the annual physical inventory reconciliation process.
  • Prepare year-end audit work papers and assist auditors as assigned.
  • Provide support to others in the Accounting department, including tasks related to other Peterson subsidiaries.

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
